Tone marks 5

Thai has five tones. These marks, combined with the consonant class and vowel length, decide which tone a syllable takes.

Study them one at a time

  1. ่ Mai Ek “chicken” 12 words
  2. ้ Mai Tho “water” 12 words
  3. ๊ Mai Tri “table” 8 words
  4. ๋ Mai Chattawa “dear (affectionate)” 7 words
  5. ็ Mai Taikhu “child” 12 words
